People are fed up with this administration's bullshit. But that won't stop Tony Snow from blaming the liberal media for perpetuating a "defeatist" attitude:
QUESTION: Are you at all worried that, as, sort of, these basic questions are answered and the answer that comes back is not exactly -- and it's not black or white; it's gray, and all -- are you worried that the American people listen to this sort of debate and perceive you and the White House as isolated and out of touch on this?SNOW: No, no more than I think that they look at you and think that you guys are focused on defeat.
QUESTION: Wait a minute. That's not my question.
(LAUGHTER)
SNOW: Well, you just asked me if I'm clueless and I asked if you were defeatist.
QUESTION: Wait a second. Hang on. You have Republicans, Voinovich, Lugar, Domenici, people who are involved in shaping a new course for the mission, and they are leaving the president.
Every time this gets asked about, you tell us, no, that's not what's happening. When people listen to this back and forth, do you think the inference many Americans draw is the White House is the last place to get the fact that the Republican Party is leaving them?
SNOW: No. I think the White House is the last part trying to say public opinion polls are not what the war is made of.
Oh, and how's that totally awesome War on Terror going? Eh, not so well...
U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since just before the 2001 terrorist attacks, The Associated Press has learned.The conclusion suggests that the group that launched the most devastating terror attack on the United States has been able to rebuild despite nearly six years of bombings, war and other tactics aimed at crippling it.
Still, numerous government officials say they know of no specific, credible threat of a new attack.
Apropos of what I wrote earlier today about Republicans almost wishing for more terror attacks that give us all a warm fuzzy feeling, they might just get their wish. Bush's legacy: billions of dollars and thousands of lives wasted to make us as vulnerable to the very group that attacked us at the beginning of his presidential term.
These criminals make me sick. If the world were just they'd all spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison for the damage they've done to our country.
